Pre-surgery Information for Owners

Pre-Surgery Information

Is your pet booked in for a procedure?

They are in good hands so don’t worry.

There are four things you need to do for your pet prior to bringing them in on the day of their procedure:

  1. Give them a normal dinner the night before the procedure. No food after midnight.

  2. Make sure water is always available.

  3. Drop them off between 8.30am and 11am on the day of their procedure.

  4. Consider whether you would like your pet to have a blood test prior to the anaesthetic. This will check how well the anaesthetic processing organs are functioning to ensure a smooth recovery. The nursing staff will offer this on admission in the morning. It is recommended for all pets, especially if they are a “senior” or over 7 years of age.
